Introduction
What is Storm?
Ruby Storm is a linear combo deck using its namesake mechanic to win the game in a single turn. It’s a critical mass combo deck, as opposed to “A + B” combo deck such as Splinter Twin. The deck is using the combination of cost reducers (Ral, Monsoon Mage and Ruby Medallion) and rituals (Desperate Ritual, Pyretic Ritual, Manamorphose) to create some explosive turns. The rest of your deck is mostly card advantage, allowing you to keep chaining spells. Once the Storm count is high enough, Grapeshot is usually your win condition.
Storm is often seen as a complex and hard to master archetype. While it’s true to some extent, I strongly believe that anyone who puts in the effort can pick Ruby Storm and have some competitive success.
