Hello everyone, and welcome to the August 2025 update to my Jeskai sideboard guide! If you're new to the archetype, make sure to check out my Jeskai primer here.
It’s been a little over two months since the original guide was released, and Modern has changed a fair bit since then. Edge of Eternities introduced us to a wave of powerful cards, most notable among them being Quantum Riddler and Consult the Star Charts, and new decks, such as Grixis Reanimator, emerged.
Consult the Star Charts
Speaking of new additions, Consult has slotted right in Jeskai, as well as other control decks. Fable has its moments, but Consult is arguably a stronger card and it aligns much better with the overall game plan, allowing Jeskai to transform into a true draw-go deck in matchups where it’s desirable to do so. It also grants more inevitability, which is crucial against decks like Blink, and it elevates Snapcaster Mage from a backup Wizard to a true star player that’s on par with Thundertrap Train...
